Dr Mitch is an Australian-trained ophthalmic surgeon (FRANZCO). He has specialist expertise in refractive surgery, cataract surgery, complex anterior segment and lens surgery, and conditions of the retina and vitreous. Dr Mitch completed medical training at the University of Sydney and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and then completed ophthalmology training in the Prince of Wales Hospital network. He is trained in refractive surgery and has completed the Forefront Refractive Surgery Course run by the highly respected London Vision Clinic. Dr Mitch offers PRK, SMILE Pro, LASIK, and ICL surgery. In addition to his refractive experience, he has further fellowship level training in complex anterior segment surgery and vitreoretinal surgery.

In addition to his work with Eagle Eye Surgeons, Dr Mitch is the Head of Department for Ophthalmology at Nepean Hospital and has led the expansion of publicly funded eye surgery in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

Outside of Ophthalmology Dr Mitch can often be found exploring the wilderness in the Blue Mountains area, and has spent many years camping, hiking, and photographing the region. He is a keen fencer, having started with sports fencing in High School. He now mainly practices German longsword in the Liechtenauer tradition, and also has interests in German messer fencing and the Italian longsword treatise of Phillipo di Vadi.
